Lost: The Buddy Cop Episode

Another episode of Lost aired last night (as if you didn’t know). This one had some interesting choices in story, ones that I’m going to do my best not to judge. Don’t get me wrong, it was a good episode in its own right, and some story development did happen. It’s just not going to be one of my favorite episodes that I’ll pay rapt attention to whenever I’m rewatching the series. In the end, Damon Lindelof posted the best summary of the episode on his Twitter feed earlier in the day: “Recon. Verb. To con again.” In its most simple form, last night’s episode was about Sawyer conning everyone again and again. I’d say that’s a decent intro, so let’s get down to the nitty gritty.

The Redemption of Dr. Linus

Alright, so last week I said I didn’t have much to write about, and then wrote a lot. Not the case this week. Not too much happened in this episode, but some awesome observations were still made and should be pointed out. Let’s get at it.

God And The Devil: This Week’s Lost

A lot of things happened in this past week’s episode of Lost, almost all of which I liked. As per usual, I’m going to assume those reading this have seen the episode, so they wont be spoiled and I wont have to write a recap of the episode to go along with my analysis. This’ll be a shorter one though folks, as I don’t have quite as many theories to talk about this time. Let’s get into it.

Tipping the Scales: With Each New Week Comes A New Lost

Stepping away from technology and back into the realm of entertainment, tonight’s episode of Lost was huge, and still has my head spinning. If you haven’t seen the episode yet, you’ll want to stay away from this page until you do, because it’s going to be rather SPOILER-HEAVY. To deviate from my usual ramblings, I’m going to separate this review/interpretation of tonight’s and last week’s episodes into sections, just to make it neat and tidy. First I’ll start off with the major element of this week’s episode: The numbers.

What’s Black and White and Watched All Over? – Last Night’s Lost Premiere

So, I’ve been closely following my Twitter feed since last night, and overall I’ve seen a rampant use of the word “confused” to describe Lost’s two-hour premiere. Because of this, I thought I’d take a chance to explain some things. I’ll try to answer as many questions that I’ve come across as possible in this post, but if you have another question post it in the comments below and I’ll answer it to the best of my ability/knowledge!

Avatar Review: Haven’t We Seen This Before?

All right, so here’s my first film review of any significant length. Now, usually when I see a movie I tend to say very little other than whether I liked it or not. Since I tend to like everything I see, I don’t end up saying much. Here I’ll be doing things a bit different. However, there are a few things that you shouldn’t expect out of a typical review from TandyQ (haha, rhyming). First off, I don’t do any kind of letter or scoring system. If I think you should see a film, then I’ll say it. If I think you should run away from it screaming then I’ll say that. That’s what you need to know. Secondly, don’t expect any kind of synopsis of the story from me. I’m not that great at summarizing stories and who knows what people do or don’t want to know about a storyline before they see a film. Things can get messy, so if you’re looking for info about a given film’s storyline you’re in the wrong place. Anyway, sit back and enjoy my review of the film Avatar.
